What is the difference between Indian natural stone and local Ontario quarried stone?
Both are valid options with slightly different strengths. Indian natural stone-the granites and sandstones we import at Worldwide Stone-is known for its extreme density, huge range of colour, and consistent slab dimensions, which lend themselves to contemporary designs. Our stone has a verifiable history from managed quarries with traceability and ethical sourcing. Ontario stone generally offers a slightly different color range and is cherished for its local provenance. Our focus has always been on Indian natural stone, where we have some thirty years of experience selecting, shipping, and laying this in Canadian conditions.
What is the typical lifespan of natural stone on a Brampton driveway?
Given appropriate stone selection and a good sub-base, a driveway laid with natural stone can realistically last fifty years and considerably longer. We have clients whose driveways in Ontario were laid just before the turn of the century, and they remain in perfect condition, almost thirty years later. The deciding factors are the specific water absorption rate of the chosen stone, the sub-base design, and a good jointing material to allow for seasonal expansion and contraction.
Do natural stones need to be sealed in Brampton?
It varies by stone type. Some of the densest granites absorb very little moisture on their own and are fine, unsealed. We do suggest applying a penetrating sealer to sandstones and limestones every three to five years. This not only guards against stains but slightly increases the stone’s resistance to frost damage. We give specific sealing instructions for the actual product you purchase, not just general advice.

Do you offer contractor and builder volume pricing?
Yes! We do offer preferential pricing to contractors and builders who are ordering multi-pallet quantities of stone. We have developed relationships with many of the busy custom home builders and landscape contractors in Brampton, and we often have standing supply contracts with them.
